NEW DELHI Kevin King Hoodie , Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Two buses were torched by protesters in India's western state of Gujarat against the detention of some people belonging to Patidar community, police said Wednesday.


The buses were set ablaze Tuesday night in Surat city, about 284 km south of Gandhinagar JK Scott Hoodie , the capital of Gujarat.


Reports said the violence broke out after police detained some youth trying to disrupt an event organized by ruling Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) youth wing.


"Last night in Patidar-dominated Varaccha locality, some people torched two buses at Hirabaug circle and threw stones at police. No one was injured in the incident," a police official said.


The BJP has been holding the meetings at local level across the states to mobilize party workers for local elections scheduled later this year.


Surat has over 1 million population of Patels also known as Patidars.


The community found a new leader in Hardik Patel in 2015 Josh Jackson Hoodie , when he led protests in several parts of the state to demand job quotas for the Patidars which otherwise are wealthy and influential in the state.


No fresh reports of violence have been received on Wednesday in the violence affected part.

ISLAMABAD, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- At least 14 people were killed and six others injured when a passenger van hit a truck in Pakistan's northern Rawalpindi district on Tuesday Jaire Alexander Hoodie , officials said.


Six people, including a kid, were also injured in the accident Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Hoodie , which happened at motorway near Chakri interchange in the district, the spokesperson of motorway police said.


Police said the van was on its way to Rawalpindi, a main district in the country's eastern Punjab province Randall Cobb Hoodie , from central Jhang city of the province.


The accident happened when the over-speeding van crashed into the truck while trying to over take it.


The spokesperson said that the van's gas cylinder exploded due to the collision, engulfing it in fire, which resulted in the large number of casualties.


Local Urdu TV channel Express said that some of the bodies have been burnt beyond recognition and will be identified by DNA test.


The injured people have been shifted to a nearby hospital.


Police cordoned off the area to determine the cause of the accident.
